Established in 2007, Burger Lounge was founded by J. Dean Loring and Mike Gilligan with the underlying philosophy that superior flavor and freshness come from ethically and sustainably grown ingredients that are primarily organic, non-GMO and sourced from responsible growers and family ranchers. Each restaurant incorporates earth-friendly business practices reflected in such things as tabletops made from recycled water bottles and converted waste cooking oil that powers the delivery trucks. There are currently Burger Lounge locations in Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange County and Las Vegas.
Comments Loring, “the genesis of Burger Lounge is that we’ve created a burger you can feel good about eating using fresh single source American grass-fed beef from family ranchers whose best practices and authenticity result in fabulous flavor. We prepare our entire menu with premium ingredients so that it appeals to health conscious diners, vegetarians, salad lovers and those simply hankering for great hamburger.”
Burger Lounge menu highlights ($7.95 to $12.95) will include assorted beef burger options, a cage-free turkey burger, an organic quinoa veggie burger, a pan-fried Alaskan cod sandwich and a crispy cage-free chicken sandwich. The signature offering is the Lounge Burger made with 100% grass-fed American beef (never frozen), organic cheese, grilled or fresh onion, lettuce, tomato and house-made 1000 Island dressing on a proprietary bun featuring a blend of organic wheat and white flour with a hint of Blackstrap molasses, toasted on a flat-top grill. Among the salads ($8.95) will be the Fresh Vegetable and the Lounge Caesar. Assorted add-ons and house-made dressing will be available, plus sides of made to order French fries, onion rings or A Nice Little Side Salad™. There will also be a number of kid-friendly selections and gluten-free choices. Among the libations will be hand-dipped shakes, floats, cane-sweetened fair-trade sodas, local beer and wine.
Suppliers and vendors that Burger Lounge partner with include premier purveyors such as Rumiano Cheese, Grass Run Farms and Batch Craft Soda.
“Establishing great partnerships with grass-fed beef suppliers has been part of our model since the beginning” says Loring. “We work closely with our growers. We source from two family ranches that have been around for a very long time. We know a lot about these animals, including where and how they are raised, what they eat, and how they are treated. It is a humane process and we think that matters.”
The Burger Lounge design sensibility is modern, efficient, and forward thinking. It mirrors the brand’s “less is more” approach to food that has been a hallmark since its inception. The focus is on modern design, execution and guest experience.
